equirements for candidates for membership of the Council of the Republic
 A candidate for membership in the Council of the Republic may be a citizen of the Republic
of Belarus who has reached 30 years of age and has lived in the territory of the relevant region
or the city of Minsk for at least five years.
 The following citizens cannot be nominated as candidates for members of the Council of
the Republic:
 in respect of which there is a court conviction that has entered into legal force;
 having citizenship (nationality) of another state and (or) documents of foreign states that
provide rights to benefits and advantages in connection with political, religious views or
nationality.
