equirements for candidates for the President of the Republic of Belarus and deputies A citizen of the Republic of Belarus by birth, not younger than 40 years of age, who has the right to vote and has permanently resided in the Republic of Belarus for at least 20 years immediately before the elections, who does not have and has not previously had citizenship of a foreign state or a residence permit or other document, may be elected President of the Republic of Belarus a foreign state giving the right to benefits and other advantages. The same person can serve as President of the Republic of Belarus for no more than two terms. A citizen of the Republic of Belarus who has reached the age of 21 and permanently resides in the Republic of Belarus can be elected as a deputy of the House of Representatives. A citizen of the Republic of Belarus who has reached the age of 18 can be elected as a deputy of the local Council of Deputies.
