Mandatory and periodic nature of elections 1. Elections of the National Assembly and local self-government bodies shall be held periodically, within the time limits prescribed by the Constitution and this Code. 2. During martial law or state of emergency, elections of the National Assembly and local self-government bodies shall not be held. No earlier than 50 days and no later than 65 days after the end of the martial law or state of emergency, new 3 regular elections of the National Assembly and local self-government bodies not having taken place due to martial law or state of emergency shall be held. The new regular election shall be called by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia no later than 7 days after the end of the martial law or state of emergency.
