§ Ind. Code § 3-12-2-4Protest of ballot; duties of poll clerks

If a ballot or any part of a ballot is protested, the poll clerks immediately shall
write on the back of each protested ballot the word "counted" or the words "not counted", as
appropriate. The clerks then shall officially sign each protested ballot.
