(a) This section does not apply to a national committee of a political party. (b) For purposes of determining the deadline for filing a statement of organization under section 3 of this chapter, a committee becomes a regular party committee when the committee accepts contributions or makes expenditures during a calendar year: (1) to influence the election of a candidate for state, legislative, or local office; and (2) that total more than one hundred dollars ($100).
