O sufrágio é universal e direto; o voto, obrigatório e secreto. Art. 83. Na eleição de presidente e vice-presidente da República, governadores e vice-governadores dos Estados, senadores federais e seus suplentes, deputado federal nos Territórios, prefeitos municipais e vice-prefeitos e juízes de paz, prevalecerá o princípio majoritário.
