(1) A political party is a voluntary political association of Estonian citizens, which has been registered pursuant to the procedure provided for in this Act and the objective of which is to express the political interests of its members and supporters and to exercise state and local government authority. (2) A political party is a legal person in private law. The Non-profit Associations Act applies to political parties with the specifications arising from this Act.
