(1) Members of the European Parliament are elected for a term of five years. (2) Elections to the European Parliament are held on a day falling within the period determined by the Council of the European Union. The election day is a Sunday. (3) Elections to the European Parliament are declared by the President of the Republic by a resolution not later than three months before the election day.
