§ § 27Independent candidate

(1) Any person who has the right to stand as a candidate (subsections 4–6 of § 4) may nominate themselves as an independent candidate and perform the acts necessary for registration. A person who has the right to vote pursuant to subsections 1–3 of § 4 of this Act may nominate another person as an independent candidate and perform the acts necessary for registration on the basis of a corresponding power of attorney.
(2) An independent candidate may be nominated in only one electoral district.
