The family, being fundamental to the preservation and growth of the nation and as the foundation of society, shall be under the protection of the state. Spouses have equal rights. Parents have the right and the duty to raise and care for their children. The protection of parents and children shall be provided by a law. The family has a duty to care for its members in need.
