Council of Europe member since 1999. Elections administered by the Central Election Commission of Georgia (CEC). Election Code (Organic Law No 5273, 27 December 2011) and Constitution (1995) are published by the Republic of Georgia in official English translations via matsne.gov.ge.
Georgia uses paper ballots, hand-counted by precinct election commissions under the Election Code (Organic Law No 5273). Article 65 codifies ballot-paper specifications and Article 67 codifies sealed-ballot-box procedure. Some pilot electronic-voting machines were used in 2024 in select precincts but paper ballots remain the predominant statewide method.
