Adoption and publication of the decision on conducting the local
referendum
(1) After the expiry of 15 days from the adoption of the decision on the initiation of the
local referendum under Article 220 points a) and b), the local council concerned or the
representative authority of the administrative-territorial unit with special status shall adopt the
decision on conducting the local referendum or refusing it.
(2) The decision on conducting the local referendum shall include:
a) the issues to be subject to the referendum;
b) the reasons for the removal of the mayor, in the case of the referendum for his/her
dismissal.
(3) The decision conducting the local referendum shall be sent to the Central Electoral
Commission in order to set the date.
(4) An appeal against the decision of the local council shall be lodged within 3 days of
notification and shall be examined in accordance with the procedures laid down for electoral
disputes.
(5) The decision on conducting the local referendum shall be made public within 3 days
of its adoption.
