Types of the republican referendum
(1) Depending on the legal nature of the issues subject to the referendum, the
republican referendums may be constitutional, legislative, on dismissal of the President of the
Republic of Moldova and consultative.
(2) The constitutional referendum shall address proposals for the adoption or revision
of the Constitution.
(3) The legislative referendum shall address draft laws or some of their provisions of
particular importance for society and the state.
(4) The consultative referendum shall address issues of national concern in order to
consult the opinion of the people on such matters.
(5) The text of the question submitted to the Republican referendum shall be drafted
in a neutral manner, without ambiguity, without misleading or suggesting the answer.
