(1) Subject to any directions under subsection (2), at the close of the poll, a voting officer must, with the least possible delay, forward each sealed pre ‑ poll ordinary ballot ‑ box for the purposes of scrutiny. (2) The DRO for the Division in which the place is located may direct that one or more sealed pre ‑ poll ordinary ballot ‑ boxes at the place are to be forwarded, for the purposes of scrutiny, before the close of the poll.
