(1) In the case of the death of any candidate before the date of election the deposit lodged by the candidate shall be returned in accordance with subsection (2) or (3). (2) If the deposit was paid by a person other than the candidate, the deposit must be returned to the person who paid it, or to a person authorised in writing by the person who paid it. (3) In all other cases, the deposit must be returned to the personal representative of the candidate.
