(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Electoral Commission may, by notice published in the Gazette : (a) divide a Division into such Subdivisions (if any) as are specified and set out the boundaries of each Subdivision so specified; and (b) divide a Territory to which section 55A does not apply into such Districts as are specified and set out the boundaries of each District so specified. (2) The Territory of Christmas Island and the Territory of Cocos (Keeling) Islands are each to be a District of the Division of the Northern Territory in which they are included (if applicable).
