(1) The Electoral Commissioner may, for the purposes of a particular election, appoint a person to be an Assistant Returning Officer. (2) A person appointed to be an Assistant Returning Officer may, subject to the control of the Electoral Commissioner, perform such functions and exercise such powers as are conferred on the person by this Act. (3) An appointment under subsection (1) terminates upon completion of the election.
