§ Ark. Code § 7-8-104Filling vacancies in the House of Representatives

When any vacancy shall happen in the office of a member of the United States House of
Representatives from this state by death, resignation, removal, or otherwise, it shall be the duty
of the Governor, by proclamation, to order the sheriffs of the several counties to order an election
to be held on a certain day to be named in the proclamation to fill the vacancy. The election shall
be conducted in the same manner, and returns thereof made, as prescribed in this title for general
elections.
