Meetings for candidate list reviews. When the deadline for submitting candidatures has passed, cf. Article 36, the National Electoral Commission when elections to the Althingi are held, or the senior electoral commission of the municipality when municipal elections are held, shall hold a meeting that the agents for the candidate lists shall be given an opportunity to attend. If the meeting identifies deficiencies in the candidate lists, the agents in question shall be afforded an opportunity to correct them, for which a deadline may be set as time and circumstances allow, generally 24 hours. Deficiencies of a candidate list pointed out by the National Electoral Commission or the senior electoral commission of a municipality that are not corrected by the deadline given shall be subject to a decision pursuant to Articles 45 and 46. Complaints regarding individual candidatures shall be notified to the agents in writing.
