United States senator; nomination.
Candidates for the office of United States senator shall be nominated during the year of the general election next preceding the expiration of the term of office of the United States senator whose
successor is to be nominated and elected. Nominations shall be in the manner prescribed by the
Election Code [Chapter 1 NMSA 1978] for state officers.
