Election cycle. Except as otherwise provided, as used in the Election Code: A. "election cycle" means the period beginning on January 1 after the last general election and ending on December 31 after the general election; B. "general election cycle" means the period beginning on the day after the primary election and ending on December 31 after the general election; and C. "primary election cycle" means the period beginning on January 1 after the last general election and ending on the day of the primary election.
