Power to appoint consultants and enter into contracts 16. (1) The Commission may, as it considers necessary to assist it in the performance of its functions: (a) enter into contracts with persons; (b) appoint consultants or advisers. (2) There may be paid by the Commission, out of the funds at its disposal, to persons, consultants or advisers referred to in subsection (1) , such fees (if any) or allowances for expenses (if any) incurred by them as the Commission may determine. (3) The appointment of a person as a consultant or adviser under this section shall be for such period and on such terms and conditions as the Commission considers appropriate.
