Officers not to act as agents. 27. —(1) The referendum returning officer, a local returning officer or a person employed by either of them for any purpose relating to a referendum shall not act as an agent for a member of the Dáil or a member of the Seanad at that referendum and shall not be associated in furthering any particular result at the referendum. (2) The referendum returning officer or a local returning officer shall not employ in any capacity for the purposes of a referendum a person who has been employed by any other person in or about the referendum or has been associated in furthering any particular result at the referendum.
