False statement of withdrawal or death of a candidate. 151. —A person who, between the date of the issue of a writ for the election of a member or members of the Dáil for a constituency and the date on which the return is made to the Clerk of the Dáil under section 39 , knowingly publishes a false statement of the withdrawal or death of a candidate at the Dáil election shall be guilty of an offence.
