20A-8-402.6. 
Notification of meeting to declare midterm vacancy nominee by appointment.




(1)
When there is a midterm vacancy in an office for which a registered political party is entitled to declare a nominee to fill the vacancy by appointment, the registered political party shall, no later than five business days before the day on which the registered political party meets to declare a nominee:


(a)
notify the lieutenant governor of the date, time, and location of the meeting, if the vacated office is a state office or legislative office; or





(b)
notify the county clerk, if the vacated office is a county office.








(2)
If, after providing the notice described in Subsection (1), a registered political party changes the date, time, or location of the meeting, the registered political party shall notify the election officer of the change before 5 p.m. no later than one business day after the day on which the registered political party makes the change described in this Subsection (2).
