(1) The election commission shall operate as an independent local government institution for the whole term of office of the relevant council. The mandate of the commission shall expire on the day when the newly elected council has established a new election commission. (2) The composition of the election commission shall be changed in accordance with the procedures laid down in this Law. (3) The polling station commissions shall operate in accordance with the procedures specified by the Central Election Commission. [13 June 2002; 13 November 2008; 17 May 2018]
