The Central Election Commission shall consist of nine members - voters. The chairperson of the Central Election Commission and seven members of the Election Commission shall be elected by the Saeima, whereas one member shall be elected from among judges - by the Supreme Court during its Plenary Session. During the first meeting, the Central Election Commission shall, by secret ballot, elect the deputy chairperson and secretary from among the members thereof. [6 April 2006]
