(1) In the Republic of Latvia the following persons have the right to elect the council: 1) a citizen of Latvia; 2) a citizen of the European Union who is not a Latvian citizen but who has been registered in the Register of Natural Persons. (2) Such person has the right to vote who has reached 18 years of age on the election day, is registered in the electoral register and has been registered at his or her place of residence in the administrative territory of the relevant local government for at least 90 days before the election day, or such person who owns immovable property which is registered in the administrative territory of the relevant local government in accordance with the procedures specified by law and to whom any of the restrictions referred to in Section 6 of this Law (hereinafter - the voter) does not apply.
