The President, a member of the Saeima, a member of the Cabinet, a councillor of a local government council may be nominated as a candidate in elections to the European Parliament, however, if the relevant person is elected, he or she shall lose the position of a State official as well as the relevant member or councillor mandate on the 30th day after the approval of election results.
