(a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a member of a recount committee is entitled to compensation for time spent in making a recount at an hourly rate set by the recount supervisor, not to exceed the maximum hourly rate for election judges. (b) A tabulator assisting in a recount using automatic tabulating equipment to recount ballots originally counted at a central counting station is entitled to compensation in an amount set by the recount supervisor, not to exceed the rate of compensation for the tabulation supervisor of the central counting station.
